Jingle Bell Flop

We went to our first Christmas Party of 2010 tonight.  I was so excited.  Hubby and I bought these funny hats, and I tied these obnoxious jingle bells to my sneakers.

Foodwise, I thought I was totally in control and planned ahead.  Since everybody was bringing food that wasn't so good choicewise for me, I decided to bring my own, sauteed chicken breast with a little sausage simmered in the crockpot for a few hours with tomato sauce and then tossed with whole wheat pasta.  Good choice, right?  Right.

And since there were no veggies coming that I knew of, I brought a HUGE tossed salad.  Good choice, right?  Right.

Well, that's where the good choices ended.  I mean seriously, out of control.  I had a little of everything.  I mean it.  I'm so disappointed in myself.  Everything looked SO GOOD.  I won't even get into what I ate.  It's too embarassing....let's just say it was a WHOLE LOT of carbs, fats, and sugar!

And it's been so crazy busy trying to get all the work done that I have not gotten any good workouts in.  Maybe tomorrow I can squeeze one in.  I really need to MAKE SURE I squeeze one in.  If nothing else, if I can't get enough time to get out of the house and get to the gym, then I better get my big butt down on that elliptical and work it out!

So now I'm off to drink a bunch of water (something had a lot of salt in it) and try to chill out.  5:30 a.m. will be here before I know it.  Tomorrow will be a brand new day.

  1. The proverbial #@$% happens. You know the drill: put it behind you and just get back on program. What you brought did sound great, by the way, but I know the kind of stuff you were facing.

  2. Been there done that! Mine however would have been the sweets. Right now everyone is constantly offering me chocolate. Chocolate is my downfall, I could seriously live on it(scary I know). Just get back up on that horse! It is all we can do.
