Back "In the Zone" AND The Rings

Another beautiful sunny morning, and I slept in...well, okay. Honestly, I slept an hour later than normal. Is that considered sleeping in?

Anyway, finally got back to my Weight Watchers meeting and weigh-in after missing two weeks. I am THRILLED to report that I lost 3.8 pounds. Yeah! I must correct a Facebook post I made yesterday. When I said "back to goal" and free eTools, what I meant was back to my "goal zone". As a Lifetime Weight Watcher, your membership is now free as long as I stay within two pounds of my goal. So the 3.8 loss put me back to within two pounds of my goal. I don't have to pay for the meetings, AND as a Lifetime member, I now get FREE ETOOLS! So excited about that. I have paid for eTools for the last few years since reaching goal. So this was a big incentive for me when I heard about it. It is just another motivator to keep me at goal.

Another motivator? My wedding rings! Towards the end of my weigh loss, it became quite apparent that I could not wear my rings anymore. Even with a guard they were slipping around too much and I was afraid I would lose them. So they've been sitting in my jewelry box for the last few years. A couple weeks ago, I made the decision, it was time. I have realized that this weight loss is for good, that I have everything I need to keep the weight off, and it's time to wear the rings! So we took them to the jeweler and had them sized, picked them up last weekend.

They looked so small when the jeweler put them on the counter in front of me! I was nervous when I slipped them on, because they are a little snug. Then I realized I had ham two days in a row, for dinner, and then soup the day before, so I was probably "a little puffy" from the sodium. Plus, two of the rings kind of lock together, which makes them a little snugger.

Anyway, now that they're done, they went right back in the jewelry box and I WILL NOT WEAR THEM again until I am under my goal weight, AND the fact that the rings are "a little snug" may just be the motivation I need to take off ten more pounds! :)

This "ring" motivation actually has a little history with me. When I was very close to getting to goal with Weight Watchers, I bought a ring. I loved it. Called it my "goal ring". Once I got home, I put that ring in the jewelry box with a promise that I would not put it on again until I reached goal. The day I reached goal, I had that ring in my purse and as soon as my leader told me I had done it, I put that ring on my finger! Silly that a piece of jewelry can give me such motivation? Maybe, but hey, whatever works, rights?

So it's a beautiful day...or looks like it. I think I'm feeling well enough now to get out and run this afternoon! Have to get some work done first though. Another motivator for me is running. If I get my work done, I can go for a run!

Hope you're all having an awesome weekend! What motivates you?
