Can you guess by the title of my post? Yep. Knee is still swollen, but I think it's starting to go down a little. Still using the ice and trying to elevate it some throughout the day.
Went to my meeting and weigh-in this morning. Gained 1.6. Can I blame some of that on the swelling? I'm also taking into consideration that I have not been able to move since "the crash". In order for me to lose weight, I need to work out, and that hasn't happened much this week.
So I'm okay with it. My goal is to keep this swelling going down and go away. I know I'm probably pushing it, but would really LOVE to get back on my skates Monday. The knee does not hurt at all. Just swollen and bruised. I would also LOVE to be able to get out for a couple short runs during the week. There is a 5K on Saturday that I wanted to run, but maybe that's not such a good idea. Can't put the idea out of my head though. I'll just see how it goes during the week.
When I told Mom about the crash on skates, she said, you know, maybe it's time you gave this up. I said ABSOLUTELY NOT! I love skating, I love being active, and it is key to me feeling good, both physically and emotionally. I think she understands. She's just worried, because the surgery last year was "because of the skates" and now this injury was "because of the skates".
Tonight we're having a big salad for dinner with some spinach ravioli and marinara sauce. Then heading out to see my nephew in the high school band competition. Should be a fun night!
Thinking of changing the color on my blog, but not sure. Pink is my favorite color, my signature color. Everything with me starts with pink.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE COLOR?

Yeah, I know, Amanda. Don't push it. Got up about 7:00 and put ice right back on. I've been measuring with a tape measure and think I actually see a significant difference this morning. That's a GREAT SIGN!
ReplyDeleteI think your swelling had to have affected your WI!
ReplyDeleteTake it easy this week and let your knee heal. You have the rest of your life to skate and run, right?! Don't worry, you'll be back in action soon :)
Don't give up skating do what you love. The swelling will pass. Favorite color GREEN!!
ReplyDeleteMarisa, I think you're right! That swelling probably did affect it a little, plus the fact that I didn't get the usual activity points in. How's your 10K training going?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kathleen. Yeah, I'm not giving any of it up. Just need to rest it more. I haven't been doing too much of that today, though. Just finishing washing every window in the house. Going to get the ice bag and put the leg up now though!
