Apples, Apples, Apples!

I was wondering what I would blog about this morning, and then looked at my dining room table. Oh, my gosh, we have so many apples, thanks to dear sister-in-law. It's my favorite time of year. We go up to her house every year, pick apples from her two great big old trees, and then sit peeling and chopping apples all day, with big pots on the stove of apples cooking. Yummm! Had to miss out on that this year because it was scheduled for the same day I had appointment with surgeon.

But, sweetheart that she is, she did not forget about me and showed up at my house on Sunday, number one, with a bunch of yellow roses and a beautiful card to congratulate me for my success in finishing my first 5K, as well as a HUGE box of apples. And they smell so sweet! Who needs air fresheners when you've got fresh ripe sweet apples in the house.

Husband sat at the table yesterday, peeling, chopping, and cooking down a pot for me, but there are still lots left. Warmed up a small bowl of them this morning with a little fat-free cool whip on top. Oh, my goodness, so sweet with no need to add Splenda! Just pure sweet goodness!!!
