Is it possible?

So I just got back from my mid-afternoon break, run and then salad at Subway. Of course, the salad was wonderful, as usual, but must talk about my run.

Could it be? I ran 4 miles. At least according to the track map, I did. Each lap that I do according to the track map at the park is 1 mile around. I did my 3 that I've been doing the last two runs, and after 3, I had great music playing on my iPod, my new running shoes felt great, and I was still breathing without gasping, so I pushed for 3.5, and then went on and did 4! Oh, my gosh, am I totally losing my mind? I'll try it again next time I run and maybe put my pedometer on to check the distance, but in any event, I am now running 4 times the distance that I started! I just went to the calendar and checked. It's been exactly 7 weeks since I went for my first run.

Yes, I'm proud of myself and not afraid to say it. I keep thinking of Jillian Michaels in one of her radio podcasts saying that running equals skinny, and that's what got me started. I figured I'd give it a try and see if it would speed up the process of getting me to goal. I never figured enjoying it would be part of the deal though.

  2. Thanks, Marisa! Hey question for you about Almond Breeze. Do you get it at your local grocery store or do I have to order it online?

I can't wait to wear my ring! It's not like this totally ridiculously expensive ring, but it caught my eye, I fell in love with it, bought it when I should have spent the money on other things, and tucked it away in my jewelry box specifically so that it would be my "goal ring".

  3. Hi Reen,

I usually buy unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze at TJ's, but they have it in all my local markets, too - Safeway, Giant and Acme. Make sure to get the unsweetened (it's only 40 cal. per 8 oz. cup); it's easy to pick up the regular as they all look the same!

  4. cme. We don't have a TJ's that I know of. Oh, wait, you mean Trader Joe's, don't you! Hah, see, it's been so long since I've been there. I really need to make a trip there.

By the way, Bailey's doggie package came today! He was SO excited! Got right into it too. We're setting some of the things aside for his "vacation". Taking him on his first roadtrip to Florida this year! Thanks again. :)
