Honesty and Motivation

So the results are in.  It's official.  I gained while on vacation.  Surprise!  Okay.  Now that that's over, the honesty part.  I'm at a weight that I have not been at since reaching goal a few years ago.  There.  I said it.  I'm heavier than I've been in a few years!  Of course, it's all due to that "whopping" gain over the holiday vacation.

So what does this honesty and reality do for me?  Hubby said to me this morning, all right, don't get mad about it.  I said it before I ever thought about it, "I'm not mad.  I'm motivated."  Yep, that's what I am, motivated.

So what to do from here?  Well, that's the easy part.  I know what to do.  I've done it before.  I've been doing it since I got back from vacation.  Okay.  Insert a little more honesty here....except for this weekend.  And it is easy.  Make better food choices, drink water, and get moving.  I'd like to emphasize that for me, those three things do not work individually.  They're a team!   They all work together to help me to burn calories, raise my energy level, and just feel better.

Now, one of the things I said I was going to do beginning January 2012 was to cut back my running to once a week, twice max, and focus on strength training and cross training.  So although my first go-to to burn calories would be to run, I did that Saturday and Sunday, so that's off limits.  Today my goal is to return to the gym and start that cross/strength training.

So here we go, on the road back to my goal weight.  Count down begins.  I'm motivated to get there and am interested to see how many weeks it takes for me to get there.
