No, I don't have one. It's just me and the road.....or treadmill, depending on the whether, but sometimes I really wish I had someone who lived nearby who liked to run, someone I could call and say hey, you know, I'd love to go for a run, you in; someone who could call me when I'm not quite up to it and talk me into going for a run so they're not alone; someone who would be there at 8:00 at night to run with so I can run at night. Yeah, just dreaming. Like I said, it's just me and my iPod Touch and my Gymboss App on my iPod and my tunes and my heartrate monitor.
Had hoped to get out today for a run. It was such a beautiful day, but other things got in the way. So I'm determined to hit the gym this week and get a few good workouts in before Turkey Day. And since I'm not cooking this year, I'm also planning on going for a run Thanksgiving morning if the weather is okay. As long as it's not too cold (under 40 degrees) and not raining, it's a plan.
Struggling with the food issues today. Had a birthday dinner and cake for my BFF Forever last night, pasta, meatballs and sausage, salad, cocktails, wine, birthday cake. Yeah, I kind of enjoyed myself. Hey, I'm at goal. I can handle this....right? Except today I saw that birthday cake calling me. So that's what I had for lunch, a small slice of cake, and a piece of Panera cheese bread and Laughing Cow cheese. Can you say CARBOHYDRATES!!! Whew!
Dinner was a little more manageable and healthy, chili and salad. Yum. Now it's time to curl up in my jammies and watch Sunday night football. GO EAGLES!!!!!
P.S. Congratulations to my friend, Marisa, on completing her first Half Marathon today, and Happy Birthday! You are a tremendous inspiration. I hope you know that! YOU ARE one of the reasons I have continued my efforts to get back out on the road and run, despite all my pitfalls. Witnessing your training all summer and fall leading up to your races has kept me motivated to get back in shape, and meeting you in A.C. was so great for me. I think I might have been a little less enthusiastic about "watching" the marathon as opposed to the original plan of "running" if it weren't for the fact that I was there watching you and my friend David run it! Hopefully some day soon we'll be running a race together. :)

If it's in the house Cake calls me too! :) I am a lone walker so I understand. Sometimes I think I'd be able to do more if someone else was there.
ReplyDeleteI have the worst time with leftover goodies! I usually can stay strong the first day we have them, but when I have to look at them the next day and the next, it's so hard to resist. I usually don't :(
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your support, Reen! This training has been an awesome experience and I loved being able to meet with you in AC, too. Next year... we are running it together! We can do it!
The birthday cake is going in the trash today! It breaks my hear to do it, but I MUST!
ReplyDeleteYes, Marisa, WE ARE RUNNING A.C. together next year! We can do it! You've done it, girl! I will.
