Really? Really. I was asked to bring a Weight-Watcher friendly dessert for Thanksgiving! I'm so excited! I don't know if I've ever been asked to bring something Weight-Watcher friendly. I'm not the only Weight Watcher in the family anymore and I'm so thrilled. Now I'm on a mission to find the most incredible Weigth Watcher dessert I can.
Looking for help. I'm not looking for the usual low-fat pumpkin pie or pumpkin fluff. Maybe not even anything pumpkin. I'm looking for something yummy, something maybe the rest of the crowd won't even realize is Weight Watcher friendly, so that we few don't stand out. Maybe some kind of cake or tart, something chocolate. Oh, I don't know. My mind is going in a million directions.
So please, throw me some ideas. Meantime, I'm going to start doing a little searching and see what I can find. Funny thing is the family member who's having Thanksgiving this year has borrowed ALL my Weight Watcher cookbooks. So I don't have them to refer to.

Cool! I know you want something different but the WW pie is a big hit at my house. This is the 3rd year I'm making it. :)

ReplyDeletePumpkin Angel Food Cake
1 Angel Food Cake mix (the 1 that you only add water to)
1 - 15 oz can 100% Pumpkin
1 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice (or cinnimon)
1 cup water
Mix the angel food cake pumpkin, water and spice together pour into a 9x13" pan bake in a preheated 350 oven for about 35 minutes...."frost" with fat free cool whip.
4 points per serving @ 12 pieces (less for smaller slices)
a note about the Chocolate Éclair Desert, just to make it clear do not make the Jell-o pudding before adding the 3 cups of milk...so that is 2 small pkgs of dry jell-o pudding mix in the instructions.
ReplyDeleteDianne, thank you so much for your suggestions! I was looking for something maybe not "pumpkin", but the pumpkin angel food cake sounds really good! I was already leaning towards angel food cake so this might be a winner!
ReplyDeleteI saw a recipe last night that I'm curious about too. Angel food cake and jello with strawberries. YOu make the jello, let is start to thicken a little, then put the angel food cake in a tupperware container (not sure about that part) and pour the jello over it. When it sets, the angel food cake is surrounded by a layer of jello.
Hmmmm, maybe I'll bring two desserts for Thanksgiving!
