Yesterday I tried my hand at making homemade sandwich thins. Wow, they came out pretty good for my first try.
This morning, I made a breakfast sandwich with one using egg whites, spinach, turkey bacon and slender cheese. Yum!
So today in honor of Halloween, I wanted to have something on the stove that would cook all afternoon and spell incredible by dinnertime. I'm making, stuffed cabbage, or depending on where your family is from, you might know them as "glumpki" or "halupki". Since I'm Irish, this is a dish that I was "taught to make" by my neighbor when we first moved here. Today, I'm playing with a couple of recipes to see what else I can come up with. This one has the stuffed cabbage rolls layered between layers of cabbage leaves and sauerkraut. I covered it with a tomato roasted pepper soup (no sauce in the house) and V8 juice (no tomato juice either). So we'll see how this all turns out.
I'm also doing a little work in the yard, maybe earning an activity point or two, digging out elephant ears (using my good foot for the digging), canna bulbs, and planting some perennials that were in pots into the garden. All of that, and then watching football too.
My favorite, favorite thing to do on Sundays has ALWAYS been cooking and watching football. It wasn't until recently that I got away from that when roller skating came into the picture. But for now, I'm not skating as much. It's a nice change.
Wonder what time the trick-or-treaters will start knocking. I only bought two bags of candy because I don't want any hanging around after today. So if I run out, guess I'll be breaking out the mini bags of pretzels I have stashed for ourselves.
Well, better check the stove and get back out in the yard now before that doorbell starts ringing. :)

Your sandwich "thins" looked great. I am not so brave to try making things like that.
