So I got up this morning and felt like getting a little creative in the kitchen. I think I had Subway lunch on my mind and wanted something substantial to hold me for a while, since my plan is to get to the gym this morning.
So I made a "breakfast club".
Pretty, right? Yum! Two slices of toasted Wonder Smart bread , 1/2 cup of eggbeaters topped with one slice of low-fat cheese, thinly sliced onions and red pepper, baby spinach, and yes, still sliced Jersey tomato. So good. I'm eating as I type this post. Can you hear the crunch?
So yesterday was an all right day. I did not get to the gym as I wanted to. The knee was a little achey at the time I was planning on going, so I skipped it. But as dinner was in the oven, I thought I'm feeling better, wonder how the knee will hold up to running. Won't know unless I try, right? So I decided to run just around our little block, and it was okay. The knee was fine. It's the rest of me that was having a hard time. Wow, am I out of shape! Yes, I ran three times after the doctor gave me the go ahead and before my crash at the rink, but that was on the treadmill, totally different, I think, than running outdoors on the road. Whoa!
Last night (while watching Biggest Loser) I still felt like I should move. I did a little hooping (trying out a new hoop that I was making), and then decided to do some sit-up/stomach crunches, whatever you want to call them. Three nights ago, I did 100. Last night, 200! I'm sure I'm going to feel that tonight.
Well, it's been one-week since my crash at the rink. Still a little swollen and bruised, but I'm okay, and yes, I'll be skating tonight. Can't wait!
Also starting to get anxious for the weekend. Heading to Atlantic City to see the marathons and celebrate hubby's birthday! Should be a good weekend, for sure.

200?? That's awesome. I have been known to march in place while watching tv, I wish I had a treadmill because I'd make myself a deal,no tv unless I was on it.
ReplyDeleteI also wish I had a treadmill, but there are other ways to "make that deal" for tv. Marching in place is a good one. A stepper is another. I don't have a stepper, but I used a foot stool once. I hula hoop while watching tv all the time. Just "moving it" is a good deal.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting so excited for AC! I'll be on the lookout for you!
ReplyDeleteMarisa, me too! If you want, I'll send you an email with my cell # in case you want to meet somewhere. If not, I'll definitely be looking for you at your race.
ReplyDeleteI have to figure out where is a good place to see the races. I would think the finish would be a good place or close to the finish. We want to see you in your race and also, one of my friends from WW is running the half. We we have to figure that all out
Thanks, Amanda! I feel okay. I went to the gym today, ran 15 minutes and elliptical for 25 minutes.
ReplyDeleteJust took some Motrin and heading to the rink tonight. It's been one week since the crash. I'll be watching VERY CAREFULLY tonight!
