So sorry to see the summer (and watermelons) come to a close. I swear, every melon I bought was sweeter than the last! And oh, what a great weekend it was, full of fun times, lack of sleep and great food. Now it's time to pay the consequences, get back to my routine and roll on.
I am so so so tired today, partly because of not enough rest, partly because I wasn't eating the way I normally do, partly because of new medication, and actually, I think partly because I haven't been doing my regular workouts. This week, the gym is closed completely. So I'm left with that beautiful almost new piece of equipment in the basement which some call an elliptical, and skating and hooping, of course.
Went to a family picnic yesterday and it was the best day ever! Had great weather, great food, good fun and brought home a bag full of apples picked fresh off a tree. Yum! Had one today sliced up with a little organic peanut butter for my snack today. Oh, my gosh, so good! Problem is I've already gone through most of my points for the day. I'm only left with 6 points for the day. Can I manage? Gonna try. Having fish for dinner and corn on the cob. That paired with a huge salad and I think I might even have a point or two left for watermelon if I do it right.
The garden is starting to wind down, but I have at least three good size zucchini ready to cook. That's tomorrow's plan. And still plenty of swiss chard out there and one tomato plant that's still pretty loaded.
So now the kids in town are all back in school (right next to my house), which means lots of screaming kids morning and mid-afternoon, and lots of dogs barking. It makes it a little more difficult to work at home, but once I settle into their schedule, I can just work around it. That's usually a good time for me to head to the gym...when they open again next week.
For now, I'll just make it work around here. I wore my heartrate monitor all day yesterday to see how many calories I burned in a day, but since I sat on my rear end for a good part of the day, it didn't really work out so well.
How many calories in a day total, both resting and while while moving, do I need to burn in order to lose weight? Anybody know? I know, I know, I could just Google it, but I'd rather ask you and go get a cup of coffee! :)

See, I've looked up those numbers before, the number they give me to maintain, I would gain 10 lbs in a week, The number they say I can lose weight on, HA! They don't account for those of us who have higher thyroid, just not high enough for meds, slow meatbolism and genetics. They should have boxes you can check to help account for them :)!
ReplyDeleteHi, Kathleen. Actually, normally, I'm okay with my daily points, but I'm not "trying" to maintain. I'd actually like to lose another 10 pounds, but seem to be maintaining instead. I ran out of points yesterday because 1) I dropped a daily point off for the rest of the week to try to recover from all the food over the holiday; 2) I'm not getting the activity points I would normally earn, which gives me some flexibility in eating a little more; and 3) I just ate too much yesterday morning!

Reen - thanks for stopping by my blog and allowing me to find your inspiration blog. I'm looking forward to perusing past posts and getting back on track with my diet too. I was a WW life member but that was 10 pounds ago.
