Well, I'm back from our little mini overnight anniversary celebration in Atlantic City. Honestly? Not so much fun. First of all, the slots were not very friendly this time around. Secondly, rain, rain, rain, the roads at the casinos flooded, some cars parked in valet parking were half under water, water came into the casino floor. Today was supposed to be a beach day, but it rained from the moment my husband got up at 6:00 a.m. (yep, I slept in) until we left around noon due to yucky weather.
Memory loss? Yeah, apparently, I suffered a little bit from that condition over the weekend. I FORGOT HOW TO TRACK POINTS!!!!! I didn't even try. I tried to be mindful of what I ate and I don't think (hope) I did that bad all in all, but I did splurge this morning. Last night, had the dinner buffet, and tried to be mindful, but they had stuffed cabbage! What can I say? I can say I only had one. That's what I can say. I also had deviled crab, steamed broccoli, pick and peel shrimp, and some roasted turkey, oh, and a little bowl of vanilla soft serve ice cream. YIKES! Not so good.
This morning, went to a breakfast buffet (oh, Lord, was I unprepared). I chose about a half cup of scrambled eggs, a plain bagel (it was small, not those biggies you normally see), one single serving container of cream cheese, two little rolls of lox (LOVE, LOVE, LOVE), a tiny bowl of fruit and a tiny bowl of grits (haven't had in years)!. Well, okay, then I needed a little sweet, and they had these cute little danishes. I took two, one apple, and blueberry, and ate half of each. Oh, yeah, and two little pieces of turkey sausage (needed the protein). Hee hee.
Now, I know, I know, I could have done A LOT better, but could have been a lot worse. They had bacon, pancakes, sausages, biscuits and gravy, corned beef hash, hash browns, on and on and on. So I think overall, I did good. I chose to splurge with the bagel and cream cheese with lox as well as the grits (and danish) because that's something I wouldn't normally have at home. So I had it, and I enjoyed it. As for dinner last night, well, like I said, memory loss.
We didn't have lunch. Hubby and I just split a little bag of almonds. Now I'm making a little single serving pizza for myself with fresh tomatoes, a little mozzarella, fresh basil and baby spinach. Yum. Then it's off to the rink to try to skate and get some activity points in.
I'm been thinking of trying something new. I love the way a lot of you out there take pictures of everything you eat and then blog about it. I think that's awesome. I don't think I could do it every day, every meal, but I'm going to try to start taking some pictures and posting them, maybe as a reminder in the future of what I'm eating and what's working and what's not.
I started taking some pics the other day but I'm just now getting them off my camera. So I'll post again maybe tomorrow just to get it started. It won't be a daily thing, but maybe once a week.
