Damage Control!

This is where the reality really kicks in for me, that this IS for the rest of my life.  There are going to be times where I'm out of my environment, where I indulge just a bit, and then when it's over, I MUST get right back into my routine.

My husband took me to Atlantic City for two days.  It was so nice to be away from everything, work, yard work, THE PHONE, the emails.  The food was wonderful, and I don't think I did that bad overall, but definitely not my routine, and I was feeling it by last night.

For lunch on Saturday, I had a WONDERFUL spinach wrap with hummus, and grilled veggies with a mozzarella cheese.  Came with a little fruit bowl.  It was really really good.  Of course, hubby had french fries and I had trouble with them.

We went to a "buffet" (dirty word) for dinner.  I started with salad with real ranch dressing, then had steamed shrimp and crab legs (still doing good).  I did go back and have two fried shrimp and one piece (okay, two) pieces of batter fried fish (but they were little).  But, you know, it's something I haven't had in so long, something I wouldn't make for myself AND I was at the beach!  That's my outlook on this.  If it's something I haven't had in a long time and wouldn't normally make at home, it's okay, in moderation.  For dessert, I had some sugar free apple cobbler.  Breakfast the next morning was standard, scrambled eggs, a thin slice of ham, one piece of rye toast with orange marmalade, and I had just a few of the potatoes (an accomplishment in itself not to eat the entire helping of potatoes).

My problem was yesterday when we got home.  I wasn't hungry at lunchtime so I just had a Fiber One 90 calorie bar.  When I got home, I made myself a grilled wrap with chicken, spinach, dijon mustard, and sliced tomato.  It was just okay.  After that, I was hungry until bedtime!  I ate some fresh cherries, a little bowl of watermelon, a 1 point fudge bar....still not satisfied.  So I ended the night with some yogurt and more fruit.   That finally settled my hunger.  I should have just had a good lunch and dinner, but just wasn't hungry at lunchtime and wasn't into cooking.

So now it's back on track today with a healthy breakfast, nice lunch and good dinner with lots of veggies.  Funny, after being away for only two days, my body is craving it's usual routine.
