I am honestly feeling off right now. Mom is in town and I am loving every single solitary moment I spend with her, but gosh, it is so hard to stick to my normal routine. Have spent four days of not tracking a thing, and that scares me. Why am I doing that (or not doing it is more like it)? Why? Why? I don't know. Laziness, probably.
But you know, because I haven't tracked, I really don't have any idea whether I'm that bad off the road or not. How can I tell how I'm doing if I'm not tracking. I'm not overeating, but just feel like I'm trying to walk the path with a blindfold over my eyes.
Oh, and least we forget the cocktail last night and the cocktail tonight. ..and the crackers that go with the cocktails. Can't drink on an empty stomach, right? Well, they were light crackers, but don't think that makes a big difference.
Yes, I've got the MAJOR GUILTS! MAJOR! MAJOR GUILTS!!
I REFUSE to let myself slip back to where I was. Not happening! I stop this very minute and will pick up that pen and tracker with the very next bite I put in my mouth.
I one week, I will be celebrating one year since I first went to the park and decided to run. That was the greatest accomplishment for me, to take a step and then another and then another and be able to say I am a runner. So my plan the day of my one-year anniversary is to run and run and run and run and run. My goal? My goal is to run 5.0 miles at my one-year anniversary of running. That's one week from today. Want to know a secret? I'd actually like to make it 6.0 miles. I KNOW I can do it!
I also know that I can continue to do this for the rest of my life. What is the "this" I refer to? Eating healthy and stay active. I will have days when I celebrate a little too much, but the trick is to get right back on track, right? That's what I'm doing now, getting the train back on the track.
Wow, I feel like I'm rambling but just needed to be honest with myself and with all my blog friends out there. I need you all. You're so special and a part of what keeps me going.

I know you'll get back on track, Reen! It's just a minor detour... NO GUILTS! Sometimes life gets in the way. It's okay. Focus on all the GOOD choices that you made!
ReplyDeleteYay, you're a runner!!!
Thanks, Marisa. You're right, and life is going to be full of minor detours. No guilts. That's right! And I have made good choices today and got some skating in. Hoping to run tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteWish you lived closer. I could so use a running buddy. Talked myself right out of a run today because "it was windy". Could have used a swift kick in the.... :)
