What a Great Holiday!

So the 2008 holiday season is long gone now, but the memories will last forever. What a great holiday it was. Mom came up for the holiday and stayed with us. It was so great to have her here. We pulled all the decorations out before she got here, put up three different Christmas trees and decorated both inside and outside.
My sister-in-law and I built our first gingerbread house together, and it was a blast! Definitely something I would like to do every year.
We had the whole family here for Christmas dinner, and Mom and I cooked a turkey dinner together. That was the best! I haven't cooked turkey dinner with Mom since before I got married, and Mom hadn't had some of our traditional dishes in years.
We also got a chance to see all my aunts and uncles. I loved spending time with everyone.
Mom stayed long enough to see my brother sworn in as deputy mayor, and I know it meant a lot to him to have here there for that. They had a really nice party afterwards. Then next day, we took Mom back to her sister's home, and stayed for dinner and the Eagles game! We had a great day, but then had to say goodbye to Mom as she was heading south the following day. It was kind of sad to think she was heading south again, but I know the cold is not her thing. Hopefully, when the weather gets warm, she'll be back again for another visit.
