New Goals?

Goals - Something I've learned are super important in my life.  Without them, I end up wandering around, wandering away, ending up in places where I shouldn't be (I'm there).  It's a way to bring me back where I want to be.

So this week my focus is on setting new goals for myself.  More to come on that later.

I haven't gotten back to running since the half-marathon.   That should happen today, but yesterday, I participated in the Making Strides for Breast Cancer Walk.  What a sensational event for such a good cause.  It was my first time participating in an event like this and I have to say that when they brought all the Survivors together and started the Survivors lap, I got chills.   Then the walk began, 5K, around the lake.  Beautiful!  And the crowd?  13,000 walkers, and they raised over $560,000!!!!  Awesome!

For now, I have set a few goals for today.  Today's goals are, 1) if I'm going to eat, I'm going to drink a glass of water first; 2) get out for my first run since half-mary; 3) my Google Reader is out of control, over 900 unread posts.  I'd like to catch up on all posts from the last week, and then unfortunately, I'm going to have to "mark all as read" and start fresh.  I feel overwelmed when the number gets that high.  But I just can't spend that much time reading; 4) Work, work, work.

Wow, that's a hefty list of daily goals.   Do you have daily goals?  Weekly goals?  Short-term goals?  Do they help you?

  1. I had to give up on google reader a looooooong time ago. It overwhelms me. lol Now, I go down the list of blogs listed as "blogs I read" over on my running blog. Period. That's all I can do/ handle for now.

Your goals are GREAT! I'm already thinking of goals for 2012. I for sure want to run my first full marathon. I want to run 1,000 miles (again). Again...assuming I make it to that point this year. lol I want to *finally* make it to the 100 pounds lost mark. I've hovered at 80 lost for years. It's time for me to go all the way.

    I love goals!

  2. Yeah. I couldn't do the Google Reader thing. I have ALWAYS done exactly what you do, just go the list of blogs listed as "blogs I read". But then I started having all these problems where I"d go to post a comment and the computer would just lock up.

I deleted the whole blog roll from my blog and tired to go with Google Reader, but then when I wanted to make a comment, I had to go into a blog and today it started locking up again.

I don't know what made me think of trying Chrome to resolve the problem. I have Chrome and have been slowly learning towards using it more than Internet Explorer.

It has resolved the problem and is really so much faster! Now that I've figured out my bookmarks, I am one happy blogger again.

I'm still working on new goals, but I see that a few of mine are the same as a few of yours. Haven't really had the time to think it through totally, but will think about it tonight while I'm working with needle and thread on "the secret project". :) That's when I do a lot of my thinking.
