A Little Pain - A Good Thing?

Well, I followed through and rejoined the local Y yesterday.  I worked on the cardio bike (not such a good thing for the foot) for about 25 minutes, and then decided that I would get reacquainted with some of the machines.  I can do anything that doesn't affect the the left foot, ankle, and tendon in the front of the leg.  So basically, I focused on upper legs, thighs, hips, and upper body.  First of all, I can't believe how weak I have become!  Seriously, it was a joke.  I know this is a starting point and I'll work my way back up to where I used to be.  That's a good thing.

Talk about sore though.  Wow, I AM SORE this morning.  My arms, my shoulders, even my chest!  I know, I now, this is a good thing.

So although I really, really want to go back today, I don't think I should do weight training two days in a row, and the pool isn't an option for me today.  So I'll probably get a lot of work done here today and plan on heading back over tomorrow to do some laps in the pool.  According to Weight Watchers, I can earn 4 points for 30 minutes of swimming laps.  I used to do about 45 to 50 minutes of laps so that's reasonable...I think.  First I have to get a new cap and goggles.  I am definitely looking forward to getting back in the pool.

A friend took us out unexpectedly for dinner last night to an wonderful little Italian place.  I was nervous since it was totally out of the blue and not planned.  I think I did okay though all considered.  I had pasta with fresh clam sauce and a bowl of pasta fagioli.  Yum!

Have to admit that I have been over on my points every day this week, but I'm hoping to "undo" some of that damage for the next three days.   Fingers crossed...
