Back to Basics

Yeah, I kind of went a little further than "normal" with my eating this weekend so I'm trying to get it back together now.  Saturday was a pasta day.  It's been sooooo long since I made homemade sauce, and I added meatballs from the freezer that were leftover from a big party we had in March.  They were super good, but super bad in the calorie department.

Yesterday we had grilled londonbroil, and again, been a while, so I ate more than I should have.  Weighed the meat that I had on my plate...initially, but then I kept picking.   Plus big bowl of ice cream with fresh pineapple for dessert.  Yum!  At least it was lowfat ice cream.  :)

So anyway, had my little "food fest" and now it's out of my system.  Back to the basics.  Tonight, grilled chicken and fresh veggies plus a salad.  Hubby can finish up the leftovers if he wants.  I'm sticking to it!

Well, took a trip over to the local YMCA today see about rejoining.  The cost won't be so bad after all. Actually a little lower than we used to pay, I think.  They now base it on an income scale.  Yeah!  So I think if I can squeeze it into my schedule tomorrow, we're going to do it.  I need to be able to stay active while on my "hiatus" from running and skating.  I'm going to have to get up an hour earlier every morning to give me the extra time to get there during the day though.  Hopefully, I'll be all right with that.  I'll get up an hour earlier, work until around lunchtime, have a snack, head to the Y, come home, have another snack and get to work again until dinner.

Sure is hot on the east coast.  Supposed to cool off a bit in the next few days.  Fingers crossed!
