Only have a few minutes to post, but didn't want to wait 'cause...well, life happens.
Weighed in this past Saturday, down .6. I'll take it. I'm finally back under goal! Yeah! Now, to get the rest off!
It's crazy busy around here. We're on the committee for our local Memorial Day Parade and very, very involved in it, along with being in a group that is marching in the parade with a float, which makes things double crazy, plus trying to get all my work in for $$$ paying job and try to stay on program. Oh, yeah, and get the activity in.
I ran yesterday, but it wasn't a very pleasant run. Kind of muggy. I struggled through it though. Hoping to go again this morning, but will have to be early. Feels muggy already.
I've figured out a way to find "extra points" for myself (well, not really extra). I usually have my coffee in the morning "light and sweet". I use Splenda and low-fat or skim milk and always counted the skim milk in my coffee as my first point of the day. I looked up skim milk yesterday and and found that if I limit it to 2 tablespoons, it's 0 points. So I measured out 2 tablespoons of skim milk today and that's all I'm using, by going a little less "light" in each cup. I think I might be able to handle it AND that leaves me with an extra point every day to use somewhere else, or 7 points a week!
The hula hooping has now gone to a whole new level. I'm decided to try making them! We've been having a lot of fun figuring it all out. Supposedly, you can use sand in the weighted hoops, but that didn't work out real well for me, so we used water. That works much better. I'll post pictures soon (and maybe video of me hooping....or not).
Oh, one other note. My traditional go-to breakfast every morning is usually a light muffin or sandwich thin, eggbeaters or egg whites, fat-free cheese and sometimes some turkey bacon or sausage. Well, we had some turkey sausage in the freeze which is 8 servings, 2 points a piece. I defrosted it, divided it into 10 servings, 1 point per piece, and cooked it all up into patties over the weekend. Now I have my 1-point turkey sausage patty all ready every morning to throw in my breakfast sandwich! My plan was to actually make the breakfast sandwiches ahead of time and freeze so I could job pop it in the microwave in the morning, but, well, that just didn't happen. Maybe next week!

I'm back into breakfast sandwch mode, too! I like your extra 7 pts per week thinking. I like it a lot!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Heather. Was hoping you'd respond. My thinking is if 2 tablespoons of skim milk is free, that covers me in the morning. But then if I have coffee in the afternoon, and I use more skim milk, do I then count it?
ReplyDeleteIt's like those 0 points foods, one serving is zero but more than one serving is 1 point, but what if you have one in the morning and one in the afternoon? Some say it's 0 as long as it's hours apart. What do you think?
Protein is a must have for me in the morning, and most times, egg beaters is or some kind of meat is the only thing that works for me. I've tried the greek yogurt with double protein, the Special K with double protein. They're GREAT products, but I still end up with the shakes. Must be the type of protein.
Great job, Reen. I think it is those little things that add up after a while!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear more about the hula hooping!
